Pacquiao vs. Rios Nov. 23rd in Macao

Perhaps one of the most exciting pound-for-pound fighters of all time, Manny Pacquaio steps into the ring for the first time in nearly a year against Brandon Rios this weekend in China.

“Pac-Man” has been struggling as of late, having lost his last two fights. He lost the WBO Welterweight title in June of 2012 to Timothy Bradley and six months later he suffered a sixth round knockout loss to Juan Manuel Marquez, only the third time he’s been stopped in his 61 professional fights.

The fight will come from Macao in Eastern China. He was born in the Philippines, which is just across the South China Sea. Pacquiao has dedicated this fight to the victims of Typhoon Haiyan which killed nearly four thousand of his countrymen. This is the first time that Manny will have fought outside of the United States since 2006.

He has an uphill battle against Rios who is three inches taller than him and has a reach advantage of three inches and is 7 years younger than him. Like Pacquaio, Rios also lost his last bout, the first of his career, and comes into the right with a record of 31 -1 -1.

Pacquaio’s coach, the legendary Freddie Roach, was very positive about the upcoming fight this weekend saying "This was the happiest and most productive camp I have had with Manny in years. I know I predicted that Manny would knock Rios out inside six rounds but based on our last workout, I don’t see how Rios makes it past the fourth round.”
